Professional Bio
Mr Henry Kaniki is the Sustainable Fisheries Specialist for WWF-Pacific in the Solomon Islands. Henry holds a Master of Science majoring in Fisheries Science and Management from James Cook University, Australia, and has more than 13 years’ experience working with local communities across the country. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change, BSc in Marine Science from the University of South Pacific. Prior to joining WWF, he led the declaration of the first National Park under the Protected Areas Act 2010. He was the former coordinator of Arnavon Community Marine Park and co-founded Solomon Islands Rangers Association. Mr Kaniki’s work was recognized regionally with a SPREP – Leadership Award and internationally with a Blue Park Award – Gold for Arnavon Community Marine Park.
