Carolyn Kitione is the Learning Coordinator of the Shifting the Power Coalition supporting the communications, learning and impact of the Pacific Island Feminist Alliance for Climate Justice (PIFA for CJ) as well as the 13 women-led organisations of the Shifting the Power Coalition.

Her primary role is to develop and sustain spaces for young women’s leadership and engagement in decision making including in the design of project activities.

Carolyn has been actively engaging in the Pacific women’s movement for nearly a decade using community media tools and locally-led innovation to forge partnerships across local communities as well as regional civil society and governmental processes.

Her work with Shifting the Power Coalition and PIFA for CJ puts her in the centre of the work to drive an inclusive Peace-Development-Humanitarian Nexus approach in a region that faces multiple challenges including the climate crisis.
